Project Timeline
The Chart of Accounts (CoA) Phase 2 Project vision is to design a simple, efficient, and enduring chart of accounts that aligns with the university’s organizational structure and addresses its business needs. Aligning with the HCM (Human Capital Management) project will drive greater efficiency across Rutgers. Coordinating the Chart of Accounts (CoA) Phase 2 project with HCM will further provide more consistent and robust financial reporting, enhance transaction management and tracking capability, and simplify and standardize project accounting.

- HR department to unique unit-division-organization-location (UDOL) default assignment will go live July 1, 2025, to align HCM and Finance reporting.
- New chart of accounts segment values and cross-validation rules will be made active in Oracle Financials by May 16 to enable preparation of multiple systems for FY26 processing.

- Units need to avoid using FY26 values on FY25 transactions, and FY25 values on FY26 transactions.
- Requisition, expense report and journal entry approvers need to carefully review GL accounting strings to confirm segment values are being used in the correct period.
- Requests to updated existing POs with funding that carries over to FY26 will not be processed until after July 1.
